The second in the King's Quest series, and the second that I played.

Once Sir Graham, you are now King Graham, wise ruler of Daventry and loved by all your people.  You inherited the crown as King Edward promised when you brought back the Three Great Treasures of Daventry after they were stolen away -- the Bottomless Treasure Chest, the Magic Mirror and the Shield of Invincibility.  With the aid of these treasures, the kingdom of Daventry has been prosperous and happy under your rule for some time now and all is well for the people.  Now we'll just have to see whether you can keep it running just as smoothly by yourself.

This brings us to the problem.  You're terribly lonely.  You need a Queen to provide companionship, and to provide an heir to the throne, to make sure Daventry doesn't fall into ruin once you're gone.  You host a grand celebration, but none of the lovely maidens in your kingdom touches your heart.  Then, upon gazing into the Magic Mirror, you behold a vision of the most beautiful maiden you have ever seen!  You immediately consult the Mirror as to where to find her.  Her name is Valanice, and she is imprisoned in a quartz tower in an enchanted land ... and what's more, she's being guarded by a ferocious beast!  The door to the land is locked and you must first find the three magic keys that will open it.  Travelling to the Kingdom of Kolyma, you vow to rescue Valanice from her quartz prison or die trying.  Such a noble quest!  On your journey, look out for treasures fit to bestow upon a new queen.

Many strange creatures await your arrival in Kolyma.  Some are friendly and will aid you ... some would rather hinder your progress.  The first key is hidden in the depths of the ocean, the second in a cave high in the clouds and the third is kept by Count Dracula!  Everyone you'll see has something to say about your quest.  You'll meet a witch, an enchanter, a dwarf, Little Red Riding Hood and her grandmother (and a wolf on occasion!), mer-people, Pegasus and the fearsome vampire, Count Dracula himself!  These are just a few ... there are many more creatures to meet here.  Some might even try to steal the treasures you have collected thus far.  Get them back!

You'll also visit many strange locations ... from the depths of the ocean to high above the clouds ... and everywhere in between!  Explore forests, dark castles and quaint little shops ... and don't forget to look out for those rare treasures!  The puzzles aren't too hard, although some puzzles have a couple of solutions ... the more imaginative your solution, the more points you get for it!  Just be very careful.  Although the graphics aren't real good, I'm a sucker for those romance stories.  The music's cute too ... the main theme for this chapter is 'Greensleeves'.  Just remember as you embark upon your noble quest that true love will ALWAYS conquer ALL!
